Bil Senedd Cymru (Rhestrau Ymgeiswyr Etholiadol)| Senedd Cymru (Electoral Candidate Lists) Bill
Ymateb gan Unigolyn | Evidence from Individual
I am strongly against some of the bill. The gender quota shouldn’t be implemented, sex (biological) shouldn’t be a reason that a person gets nominated, it should be the best person get nominated and selected.
Also closed list is a deeply undemotactic voting process, people should have a link with local candidates and be able to vote for the person not party they wish to represent their area, closed list voting will take that away, reducing choice.
A persons sex is what they were born with, not what they choose later on in life and I don’t believe in gender quotas, best person for the position no matter how they dress.
